                     Winpsd.exe is the main component dropped by Mydoom.Q. It is a mass mailing worm, uses  e-mail addresses collected from the infected system to distribute infected messages. Mydoom worm arrives as an e-mail attachment with following characteristics

subject: photos
Message text: LOL!;))))
Attachment name: photos_arc.exe

                     When the infected attachment is executed, copies itself to Windows system folder as winpsd.exe file in the background. It also copies to rasor38a.dll in the Windows folder.

                     W32.Mydoom.Q@mm modifies registry run section to load automatically on the next startup. The registry modification is given below.

                     W32.Mydoom.Q@mm uses its own SMTP engine to send infected mails. It tries to download a backdoor file from the site www.richcolour.com and jenandjuice.com. Mydoom.Q worm appeared on 16th August 2004.
